NFL Rumors: Joseph Morgan Could Claim The Last Wide Receiver Slot For The New Orleans Saints
As the New Orleans Saints prepare to open training camp there are still a few questions marks surrounding everyone’s role on the roster. Now that Drew Brees is signed it will be important to surround him with the best weapons possible. The Saints traditionally like to have five wide receivers in their rotation and wide receiver Joseph Morgan could be that fifth wide receiver.
Morgan has only played in preseason games at this point in his career but this season he could see some playing time in the regular season. The departure of Robert Meachem has really opened up the possibilities for the Saints’ receiving unit. Morgan could be the fifth receiver behind projected starters Marques Colston and Devery Henderson and their projected back-ups Lance Moore and Adrian Arrington.
Morgan has been having a strong offseason and it is believed that he will see some playing time in the regular season. Morgan will have training camp and the preseason to show what he can do and should be able to make an impact if he is given some playing time.
Standing at 6’1″ and weighing 184 pounds Morgan is on the smaller side for a wide receiver. Although he has decent height, his weight is an issue and might have some difficulties against more physical defenders. Nevertheless, Morgan is a speedster and could provide the Saints with a different dimension in their receiving corps. Morgan will be a player to watch for on the Saints and he could have a nice year.
