New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has never gotten much love when it came to EA Sports‘ most popular franchise, the Madden game. Fans everywhere rush to purchase this game the moment it comes out, and for Giants fans it is usually met with disappointment. Not only is the team usually vastly underrated, but their franchise quarterback is as well.
We have nothing to complain about now.
In a video posted on their YouTube channel, EA Sports released the ratings for the top 10 quarterbacks in Madden ’13. Not surprisingly after his 4,933 yard, 29 touchdown season that included multiple late game heroics (record-tying seven game winning drives, record setting 15 fourth quarter TDs.), Manning comes in with a 97 rating this year.
That placed him fourth among all quarterbacks, behind Drew Brees (98 rating), Tom Brady (98 rating) and Aaron Rodgers (99 rating) who round out the top 4.
He is the highest rated quarterback in the NFC East, with Michael Vick (89 rating) coming in at No. 10 and Tony Romo (90 rating) making the list at No. 9.
I really hope Madden gets their you-know-what together and makes the Giants a higher rated team. Every year it seems they are way too low and it’s frustrating to no end. The Super Bowl champions deserve the respect they’ve earned.
A couple of players I’m looking forward to seeing rating-wise are Jason Pierre-Paul, Victor Cruz and Martellus Bennett. All three of these guys should be some of your favorite players used on either side of the ball.
I’ve bought every Madden since about 1996, and I do not plan on stopping now.
