New York Giants Make More Roster Moves
When the New York Giants make roster moves they seem to come in bunches. Here’s the breakdown for today’s moves:
Gone: Clint Sintim (waived) Justin Trattou (waived injured)
Signed: Bobby Skinner and LaRon Scott
Sintim being waived seemed like a forgone conclusion unless he had the best training camp of his life. The Giants have a ton of depth at the linebacker position and Sintim has dealt with a ton of injuries since the Giants drafted him in 2009. Justin Trattou was more of the surprising one. Trattou suffered a season ending ankle injury and with the injuries the Giants have along the defensive line, they needed the roster spot.
Skinner is 27 and is an undrafted free agent out of Montclair State. Sinclair plays defensive tackle, a spot that the Giants need some bodies at due to all the injuries. Scott is a cornerback but is also a kick returner, which is another area the Giants need help at especially coming off of the first preseason game with all the mistakes in the return game.
On the injury front, Marvin Austin‘s back seems to be ok. He described it as “a little back ache.” He most likely won’t play, but as long as he’s on the field September 5 that’s really all that matters. With all the problems at the defensive tackle position, news like this is very promising.
