New York Knicks fall to 0-2 vs Miami Heat; Amare Stoudemare injures hand after loss
Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points, but it wasn’t enough for the New York Knicks to suffer a devastating loss to the Miami Heat, 104-94. The Knicks shot a solid 49% from the floor, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Dwyane Wade’s 25 points, Chris Bosh’s 21, and Lebron James’s 19. Amare Stoudemare added 18 points and both Tyson Chandler and JR Smith added 13 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Miami Heat.
The New York Knicks are in some trouble now. With reports from team sources claiming that Amare Stoudemare punched the glass surrounding a fire extinguisher, this could mean the end for the Knicks postseason. Amare was reportedly seen walking out with his arm in a sling and wrapped in bandages. With Iman Shumpert already out with a torn ACL, the Knicks couldn’t afford another loss, especially when the player seemed to have caused it himself.
What everyone almost forgot in this mess, is that the New York Knicks last postseason win came in 2001. This marks their 12th straight postseason loss, which ties an NBA Record. The New York Knicks will now play two games at home starting on Thursday, where they will try to even up the series.
