Greetings to all New York Mets fans. My name is Ted Swedalla and I have been a New York Mets fans my entire life. Since my first game at Shea in 1977, to my most recent game this year at the beautiful Citi Field. My only regret was that we got there 5 minutes before game time and had no time to walk around the stadium or the concourse. Maybe next time.
For almost 35 years I’ve bled orange and blue. I’ve lived through the horrible teams of the 70s & early 80s. Celebrated the 1986 championship with my high school classmates. Suffered again when things went bad in the 90s. Lately I’ve had to deal with the dismal endings to the 2006, 2007 & 2008 seasons, and the absolutely forgettable 2009 season.
Needless to say I have an aversion to light-hitting defensive catchers. Mike Scoscia, Eddie Perez & Yadier Molina, this means you.
2010 promises to be different. The addition of Jason Bay, the return of a healthy Jose Reyes and the emergence of Ike Davis, make this an exciting year to begin this project.
