At the end of the postseason, only one team is happy. That team won’t be the New York Yankees this year. Ironically, as much wear and tear we put on our keyboards discussing the state of the New York Yankees’ patchwork pitching staff, it was the offense that let the team down in this ALDS – especially the 4-5-6 hitters. Don’t even get me started on Alex Rodriguez. There were just far too many opportunities utterly wasted throughout the entire series – especially in Game 5. I’m hoping that one of these days the New York Yankees will be able to beat an ALDS opponent other than the Minnesota Twins.
The disappointment and frustration is fresh right now. Once that passes I think there will be a lot of good to look back on. Perhaps I speak for myself there. Who knows?
