Michael L. Stein-US PRESSWIRE

The New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners swapped C/DH Jesus Montero and RHP Michael Pineda moments ago.  That news is spreading like wildfire, but those two were not the only players dealt.  Apparently the New York Yankees will also send RHP Hector Noesi while receiving RHP Jose Campos in return.  We know about Hector Noesi.  A solid righty with solid stuff and solid command, but likely destined for a mid-rotation spot at best.  I do not know much about Jose Campos – correction, I do not know anything about him, nor had I even heard about him until a few minutes ago.  Ben Badler seems to like him though and he describes his fastball as “electric”.  A quick MiLB.com search reveals that Jose Campos is 19 years old with a 6’4″ 195 lb frame.  He spent all of 2011 in the Northwest League (short season) and produced a 2.32 ERA with an 85/13 K/BB ratio over 81.1 innings.  For right now I’m just trying to churn out the information as quickly as possible.  Stay tuned for my take on everything in the coming hours/days.
