After receiving a life-threatening scare during practice earlier today, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin will spend the night in the hospital, according to ProFootballTalk.com’s Gregg Rosenthal.
“Percy appreciates everyone’s concern. He is alert and resting comfortably, but will remain in the hospital overnight,” Childress said in a released statement.
As reported by www.RantSports.com’s own Eric Schmidt earlier, Harvin was taken to the hospital on Thursday after collapsing during practice after suffering a migraine headache attack. He’s experienced migraines throughout most of his life, but from what today’s reports indicated, this one seemed life-threatening.
Whether or not Harvin will play for the Vikings this season still remains to be a mystery. He’s missed most of training camp due to this continuing pattern of migraines and after today, it seems unlikely Harvin will be allowed to on the field anytime soon.
After a phenomenal career at Florida, the Vikings selected Harvin in the first round of last year’s draft. He established himself as an effective weapon for Minnesota—both on offense and special teams—and finished his rookie season with 60 receptions for 790 yards and six touchdowns.
