Miles Austin Signs 6-Year Extension With Cowboys

Even though Dallas wide receiver Miles Austin has only started twelve NFL games (all in 2009), team owner Jerry Jones said he has never been more willing to dole out such a handsome contract to any player. That’s a lot coming from a guy who has handed out some major deals in his day. Austin has not played a single snap during the 2010 regular season, yet he is the first Dallas player to score this season. It’s really his second big deal this year; Austin was a free agent at the end last season, but this summer signed the one-year, $3 million restricted free agent tenure to remain a Cowboy for at least the 2010 season. Now in addition to his new six-year, $54 million salary, Austin’s breakout season has earned him a total of seven more seasons in Dallas and $57 million to be here....
