San Diego pummels Arizona Cardinals

This was just what the doctor ordered as the San Diego Chargers pummel the Arizona Cardinals. San Diego outgained the hapless Cardinals 419 total yards to 124, used an opportunistic defense to score a touchdown on an interception return and TE Antonio Gates set a record. For the first time this season, Chargers QB Philip Rivers only needed to attempt 20 passes, completing 15 for 241 yards and two scores. Both scores went to TE Antonio Gates, who with 7 receptions for 144 yards became the fastest tightend in NFL history to reach 500 receptions in just 101 games. San Diego needed to have an impressive showing on Sunday to get back on track.
