Stafford almost ready to return

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said yesterday that QB Matthew Stafford will not be playing this Sunday against the St. Louis Rams but that Stafford has started throwing and his rehabilitation is on schedule. Neither Schwartz nor the team has officially released any sort of timetable of when Stafford will be returning to the field. If I had to make a guess, I would wager and say week 8. Even if Stafford could play in week 6, I wouldn’t throw him out there against the new York Giants in New York. Think Jay Cutler on Sunday night. In week 7, the Lions have a bye and then in week 8, the Lions play at home against the Washington Redskins....
