The New York Giants will begin their training camp on July 26th. They will be back up north at the University of Albany. It will be their 16th summer up there and the longest period of one site in the teams training camp history. They have been up there the last 15 years since 1996. They have averaged 33,000 fans each summer.
The Giants are coming off a Super Bowl Championship. It was their second one in the last four years. The Giants still have a very good core of defensive guys. They don’t have many changes there. They do have some changes offensively though. Brandon Jacobs has left for San Francisco and Jake Ballard was also lost to waivers. The Giants still have their quarterback Eli Manning and their rushing will be led by Ahmad Bradshaw. They still have receivers Domenick Hixon, Victor Cruz, Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan, Hakeem Nicks.
The Giants still have the same kickers who have been very good for them for the last couple of years. They still have the same basic core of guys and there is no reason to think they can’t have a good year in 2012/2013. It is hard to say that a team can repeat because it is a such a tough season and a tough thing to accomplish. The Giants have the talent though to be one of the better teams and maybe even be better in the regular season then they were last year. The Giants didn’t really come together until the end of the year and then made their playoff run.
It will become more interesting once the training camp starts and then they start playing the preseason games. Once that starts to happen then you know the season is close and have to focus more on everything. The Giants should be a force to be reckoned with this season but we will see how it all plays out. There will be more of an idea of what to expect or what could happen once camp starts.
