I went 3-1 with my top four picks of the weekend in week two. Tough choices this week so check out my picks for this weekend and let me know what you think!
Rams @ Bears -7.5: The St. Louis Rams are developing at the wide receiver position and Sam Bradford is taking advantage. The Rams are a young, quick team and I think they can score some points against the Chicago Bears defense. Too much went wrong last week in Chicago and I don’t think the offensive line is going to do any better taking care of Jay Cutler. After watching Cutler throw a temper tantrum and watching J’Marcus Webb laugh at the little angry leprechaun shoving him on the sideline, I think it is safe to say that there are problems in Chicago. While I don’t think the Rams will win, I do think they will be able to cover getting 7.5 points.
Bills @ Browns +2.5: This is a game the Buffalo Bills should win. The Cleveland Browns are still looking for their first win and they are struggling on defense. History does show that the Bills/Browns matchups are not, shall we say, exciting to watch and could even be mistaken for baseball scores rather than football scores. However, I think the Bills do have an advantage with the Browns deciding to start Buster Skrinewho performed terribly last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. I think the Bills will focus on the run but I am expecting Stevie Johnson to bring down a touchdown or two as the Bills will try and line Johnson up to Skrine. I like the Bills, winning by at least a field goal.
Houston @ Broncos +1.5: Everyone watched Peyton Manning struggle last week on Monday Night Football. I do think Manning will bounce back and have a better game. He is 16-2 when playing against the Houston Texans, but I think the Texans have too many weapons both on offense and defense. It is a different team than the one Manning last played in 2010. Manning was picked off three times last week and the Texans defense is ranked number one in the league, ranking first in average points allowed, total yards, and passing yards. The Texans are going to continue onto 3-0.
Jaguars @ Colts -3.5: The Jacksonville Jaguars are just terrible and Andrew Luck already has his first NFL win under his belt. Stakes get a little higher as Luck and the Indianapolis Colts play their first division game but I think they are playing well enough to be squeak out a win. The Jaguars have too many things wrong, starting with a horrible offense and a quarterback who is hurt and also struggling. Laurant Robinson and Justin Blackmon have been very underwhelming compared to the Colts receivers who have grabbed 487 yards and scored three touchdowns. I think it is going to be a sloppy game with a lot of mistakes but Colts will pull ahead at the end and cover.
