Though the Tennessee Titans season hasn’t been all bad news, kicker Rob Bironas set a franchise record as well as Kendall Wright and Chris Johnson. But the bad outweighs the good in all other areas and it’s hard to ignore.
The Titans haven’t been quiet as bad at the New York Jets, in fact during week 15 the Jets made the Titans look great. Same thing with the game against the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. But games like against the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears were horrible to watch.
Titans owner Bud Adams doesn’t know yet what is wrong, and he plans to not only sit down with head coach Mike Munchak but also with the rest of the coaching staff and players of the team. Adams like Munchak but realizes that if he is the problem then he needs to go.
“I like Mike, I really do. But liking him and getting the job done are two different things,” Adams said. “If he is not getting the job done, that is what I have to find out. Right now, we are not looking very good. Something is wrong and I want to find out what the problem is and what needs to be done to fix it
I like Munchak too. I like the history he brings with the team, he knows the game but it is a different position to go from being a player to being a coach. He had many years of experience working on the line before becoming head coach but they are two totally different roles.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the offseason. I don’t think the Titans will do anything drastic right away. If, and this is a big if, they do fire Munchak it will be well over a week before it happens. They need a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in order to save Munchak’s job.
