It was well long over-due but the Tennessee Titans got a win on their last game of the 2012 season. It wasn’t very pretty though, in fact for the first half, it looked like the Titans might actually lose grip on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Neither team is moving on to the playoffs, and that is for the best, neither team had a good year at all. This game was a matter of momentum to see who could end the season on a high note. Hopefully they teams can do some major work in the offseason. Could a new head coach be in the near future for Tennessee? It’s very possible.
The Titans will also end up moving up quite a bit from their 20 spot in the draft in 2012. In the 2013 NFL Draft Tennessee will look to be about 8th in the draft order come April.
They may not have made the playoffs this year but no matter what year it is, the chase for the playoffs is always that is something that is exciting. The Titans know that all too well as they were in a very muddy situation last year that they fell just short of the playoffs. To put into prespective how different the teams are between 2012 and 2013 the Tennessee beat the Houston Texans last year in the last game of the regular season.
But they needed too many other things to happen that didn’t that made them fall short even with a 9-7 record.
There is always next year. With decent draft position and maybe new coaching the Titans should be able to put together a better sense of team chemistry to gain a winning record. They have good players, they need to execute more.
