The Atlanta Falcons looked like they had finally ended the 2012 season of the Seattle Seahawks. However, something funny happened along the way. The Seahawks came roaring back. The Falcons led 20-0 at halftime and 27-7 midway through the fourth quarter. But Russell Wilson and company roared back to get the score to 27-21 with around nine minutes in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks defense answered their touchdown with a defensive stand and good field position after a short punt.
No lead seems too safe with the sea birds. They just keep coming back no matter what the score suggests. While the Falcons were clearly the better team through three quarters, the Seahawks may be the better team into the fourth. It may be just enough for them to win the game. The football seems a little more slippery and the easy plays just are becoming that much more difficult for the Falcons.
If you ask the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins, they’ll tell you there’s no such thing as a safe lead. If you ask the San Francisco 49ers, they’ll tell you the Seahawks are a dangerous squad. Wilson may be the best of the rookie quarterbacks that shined this season, and for a third-round draft choice is my choice for NFL Rookie of the Year. RG3 and Andrew Luck were a two-man race that got steamrolled by Wilson. This kid may continue to steamroll his way into the NFC Championship Game and a potential trip to New Orleans. All I can say is wow!
