The San Francisco 49ers have the most draft picks in the 2013 NFL Draft (13) next week, with five of the first 93 picks in the draft, and one starting position open on defense (safety). The Niners have an extremely aggressive GM, Trent Baalke, that will do whatever it takes to make this team better and get the guy he wants.
These are all facts. Another fact – the 49ers will trade up in the first round next week to take a stud prospect that can start immediately and help put the Niners over the top.
The San Francisco 49ers will trade up for one of two positions in the NFL Draft next week – wide receiver or defensive line.
The player that can be immediately inserted to fill multiple needs and be a playmaker for this offense for the next few years is West Virginia WR Tavon Austin, who is the biggest playmaker in the entire draft, and he immediately becomes the starting slot receiver and return specialist on a team that needs speed at the receiver position after trading for Anquan Boldin.
After losing WR/RS Ted Ginn in free agency, killing two birds with one stone and trading up for Austin would be a bold move that could help this team win the Super Bowl next year.
The last time a team made a bold move for a WR in the draft? When the Atlanta Falcons traded up for Julio Jones, and that transcation has worked out nicely for the ATL. The 49ers have the draft picks to make a gutsy move to get into the top half of the first round and would still have plenty of picks left.
