One of the biggest questions this offseason has been whether or not Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will be ready to go for Week 1 after suffering a torn ACL against the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs in January. Normally, this type of injury takes a significant amount of time to recover, but thanks to Adrian Peterson–players are confident more than ever about returning to the field earlier than before.
Since the injury happened back in January, Griffin has made it clear he’s willing to do whatever it takes to return to the starting lineup by Week 1 for the Redskins against the Philadelphia Eagles in what will most likely be a key Monday Night Football matchup. Washington realizes how cautious they need to be about Griffin considering the last thing they want to do is see him return to the football sooner rather than later, but all signs point to RGIII being able to return for the team’s opening game in 2013.
Just looking at what Peterson managed to accomplish last year makes you wonder whether or not Griffin would be capable of doing the same in 2013–which would be nothing short of amazing. Griffin is still months away before we’ll even be close to knowing if he’s going to be healthy enough to return to the football field before Week 1, but with the progress he’s been making so far–it’s difficult not to think that he will in fact be ready to go for the team’s first game against the Eagles.
