A couple of years ago, the Cincinnati Bengals were quite the entertainment on HBO’s Hard Knocks–mainly because of wide receiver Chad Johnson (or Ochocinco if you still want to call him that). Johnson may no longer be around, but it appears HBO is still interested in following the team around during training camp.
The Bengals have been selected for this year’s edition of Hard Knocks–which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering they’ve been a team on the rise over the last two seasons. Cincinnati had high expectations when they selected A.J. Green and Andy Dalton in the 2011 NFL Draft, but nobody could have predicted them to have as much success as they did in their first two seasons.
In fact, it’s safe to say Green and Dalton have quickly emerged as one of the league’s top quarterback-wide receiver duos in the league.
Along with these two weapons on offense, Cincinnati has also been praised for the way their defense has played over the last two seasons and with the way things have shaken up in the AFC North during the offseason–it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Bengals ended up winning the division this season. One of the best parts about watching Hard Knocks is seeing whether or not certain teams have what it takes to be contenders for the upcoming season and with the way Cincinnati has looked over the last two years–it will certainly be fun to watch them on Hard Knocks during the hit show’s eighth season.
