To say it’s been a dreadful month for former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez would be an understatement.
First he was questioned in the murder of Odin Lloyd, then he was arrested and charged with murder, and now comes the news that Hernandez may have admitted to shooting Lloyd.
This is all speculation at this point, but it’s hard to imagine that Hernandez didn’t have a role on Lloyd’s death since he’s been in the middle of the murder investigation from the beginning. The most recent detail released from the case, however, is perhaps the most damaging as multiple reports from around the sports world indicate that Hernandez may have actually admitted to shooting Lloyd.
Another point of interest from the police reports released today is the statement of the events on that night from Carlos Ortiz, who has also been arrested in Lloyd’s murder.
According to Ortiz, he, Hernandez, Lloyd and Wallace were in a car that stopped to allow the passengers to exit and urinate. Ortiz allegedly stayed in the car, where he heard gunshots before Hernandez and Wallace returned without Lloyd. The vehicle then sped away.
Of course, we should all take this with a grain of salt since we have no idea if Wallace or Ortiz are telling the truth, but the evidence continues to mount against Hernandez.
They could have something to gain by pinning the murder on Hernandez, and it might be what they are doing here. Either way, it becomes increasingly clear with each passing day that Hernandez was likely involved in Lloyd’s death in a major way.
If Aaron Hernandez did admit to shooting Odin Lloyd and all of this testimony turns out to be true, Hernandez may never see the life outside of a jail cell again. The more we hear about Hernandez, the scarier the story gets.
