Vince Young Gets Another Chance With Green Bay Packers

The NFL is a league where big names usually get a second chance. While Vince Young might actually be on his third or fourth chance (depending on who you ask), but the Green Bay Packers still saw enough potential at his workout to sign him to a one-year contract on Monday.

The news of Young working out for the Packers came out of leftfield over the weekend, but apparently Green Bay was not satisfied with its backup quarterback situation. Young will now join Graham Harrell and B.J. Coleman in the competition to become No. 2 behind Aaron Rodgers.

Young seems to be a long-shot to make the final roster at this point in time, but you never know. He worked out at the University of Texas awhile back and was said to be in good shape. He also made a round of appearances where he talked about changing his attitude on life. Young came across as a guy who sincerely wants to make things right, but no team was willing to give him a chance. That is of course until the Packers inked him Monday.

The backup QB spot in Green Bay is certainly not a spot that’s going to get him back on the field in 2013, or at least that’s what Packers’ fans hope. The signing of Young could just be to shake up the other QBs and get them going, or he might look good enough to seriously compete for the job. Either way, Vince Young has his chance.
