5 Reason The Giants Will Beat The Dallas Cowboys
It is without a doubt one of the most storied rivalries in NFL history. This Sunday night the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys open the season by renewing their rivalry, in what is bound to be another barn burner!
Each team on the offensive side of the ball have a multitude of weapons led by two very good quarterbacks.
The Giants are led by Eli Manning, who undoubtedly is one of the best quarterbacks under pressure in the NFL. Behind Manning in the backfield is second year running back, David Wilson, who looks to prove that he is worthy of replacing Ahmad Bradshaw. Manning will look to throw the ball to his two stud wide receivers, Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks, as wells as first year Giant, tight end, Brandon Meyers
The Giants offensive line will have their hands full with trying to stop the Cowboys elite pass rusher Demarcus Ware.
This week one matchup is going to be a good measuring stick for how the Giants defense is going to look this season. The defensive line led by Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul, must contain Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray, which has proven in the past to be a feat in itself. On top of Murray, the G-men's defense must also lock in on elusive quarterback Tony Romo, who always seems to play at his best against Big Blue!
On the outside the Giants secondary will have their hands full trying to stay with two very good wide receivers in Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. All of their focus cannot be shifted to the receivers however, because tight end Jason Witten is a perennial Giant killer.
In the final meeting last year was any indication this years week on matchup is sure to be an exciting one. Lets hope it doesn't come down to someone not trimming their pinky nail though. These are the five reasons that the New York Giants will beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

5. Giants Secondary
Don't laugh! The New York Giants' secondary will step up to the challenge. Third year corner back Prince Amukamara is looking to prove himself this season, and will have the opportunity to do so right out of the gate. I look for Amukamara to have a big year this season, and to prove that this week against the Dallas Cowboys' good receivers.
Corey Webster and fellow corners Aaron Ross and Terrell Thomas are reunited, and look to recapture their form from 2011.
4. Defensive Line Pressure
The New York Giants' defensive line is coming off one of its worst seasons in a long time. Justin Tuck, Mathias Kiwanuka and Jason Pierre-Paul are on a mission to prove it was a fluke. The trio will be relentless in their attack of Tony Romo, sacking him at least three times!
In addition to the edge rushers, the defense has bulked up in the middle of the line. Linval Joseph now has help from Cullen Jenkins, Mike Paterson, Shaun Rodgers and rookie Johnathan Hankins. Every defensive lineman could be a starter, which gives the Giants' defense an extensive edge by being able to rotate players and not lose production. Look for the defensive line to control the Cowboys and the tempo they want to run.
3. Difference Maker
David Wilson is a difference maker! This week he will have to do it all, and he is ready to step up to the plate. His speed and agility will prove to be too great for the Cowboys to contain. He is going to get a plentiful amount of touches, both rushing and receiving, and will make the most of them.
2. You Can't Spell Elite Without E-L-I
Eli Manning is definitely going to be a difference maker this Sunday. Aside from last season, he has always fared well against the Cowboys, and I expect that to pick up again, starting this weekend. He should have no problem picking apart the Cowboys' secondary with the weapons he has in Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle. If Manning keeps the interceptions to a minimum, he is going to have a big game.
1. Home Sweet Home (Away From Home)
Since the opening of AT&T Stadium in 2009, the Giants have a perfect record there. I expect this trend to continue this year, because despite how well the Giants have played there, the Cowboys have had there troubles. Out of the last 11 times the Giants have played the cowboys in Texas, the Giants have a stout record of 8-3!
