Baltimore Ravens‘ starting quarterback Joe Flacco took a massive step forward last year after winning Super Bowl XLVII over the San Francisco 49ers. Flacco has progressed steadily every single year in his stats. Also, he gets more and more targets to throw the ball at. He has one of the strongest arms in the NFL which means he can throw through seemingly any kind of weather imaginable.
The Buffalo Bills‘ secondary has been the brunt of the joke after being torched by Geno Smith and the New York Jets last week, and while only losing to them 27-20. If that had been a better team, (and the Ravens are) it would have likely been a 20+ point blowout. That being said, the good news for the Bills’ secondary is that Dennis Pitta and Jacoby Jones are both ruled out for the game. However, if they were in the game, the beleaguered Bills’ secondary would be in for a long game as Joe Flacco would likely pass nearly every single down he could.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Baltimore Ravens overlook the Buffalo Bills like they did back in 2010 down at M & T Bank Stadium. The Ravens only squeaked by that game as they won the game in overtime after a controversial fumble by then Bills’ tight end Shawn Nelson. It might be a better game than anyone expects, however, if the Bills were to shut down Joe Flacco, the odds of their second home win of the season would greatly increase.
