Texans vs. Cowboys: Top 5 Matchups To Watch

I think that given the chance, J.J. Watt might even be able to play quarterback for the Texans. Houston’s coaching staff moves him all over the place, which is why Watt versus the Cowboys’ offensive line will be one of the top matchups to watch.

Collectively one of the worst defenses against the run, the Houston Texans will have their hands full with the NFL’s leading rusher. One of the matchups that I think will decide this game will be DeMarco Murray versus the Houston Texans’ defensive front.

Johnathan Joseph comes into this game as one of Houston’s top pass defenders, so chances are that he’s going to be shadowing Dez Bryant all over the field. Joseph is a good defensive back, but he’s yet to be tested by a top-tier wide receiver. So far, Joseph is allowing about 68 percent of the passes thrown his way.

Since his arrival in Dallas, I have been waiting to see what it is that made Carr such a coveted player during free agency. Unfortunately, I’m still waiting. On Sunday, he’ll probably draw DeAndre Hopkins in coverage, which isn’t a good thing; Carr doesn’t do well against speedy receivers, or any type of receiver, for that matter.

Brandon Brooks is the Texans most proficient pass blocker and this week he’ll draw Dallas’ most proficient pass rusher in Henry Melton. The rest of Houston’s offensive line leaves a lot to be desired in pass protection, but then again the Cowboys aren’t exactly recording sacks at an alarming rate either.
