The Seattle Seahawks are going to lay a serious beatdowon on the Washington Redskins on Monday night. The “Legion of Boom” is not messing around this season. They have now made Peyton Manning, the five-time MVP, look ineffective two games in a row, and therefore, Kirk Cousins should struggle mightily against a defense that stays home on receivers and forces the quarterback to make throws into tight windows.
The Redskins’ injury issues are no help either. Robert Griffin III is still a long way from being healthy, and losing a cornerback like DeAngelo Hall for the season due to an Achilles tear is a major blow as well. The Redskins are actually fourth overall in passing yardage with 292.2 yards per game, but they are giving up so many points that the inflated passing numbers are more a result of playing from behind. If they want to win, Alfred Morris is going to have to break 100 yards rushing (at least) and D.C. will have to find a way to keep Seattle under 30 points.
That isn’t going to happen.
The Seahawks already average 27.7 points per game, and they are also the third best rushing team (148 yards per game) in the league.
Quarterbacks always seem to have career days against the Redskins’ secondary, and Russell Wilson should have no problem getting yards however he pleases to. Fantasy owners should take note of this, because anyone who started Eli Manning last week was a pretty happy camper.
Seattle should run away with this one with no problems and score another victory on their way to a consecutive Super Bowl berth.
My prediction: Seahawks 35, Redskins 21
