Now that was some New England Patriots football. After watching this team struggle and underperform through the first quarter of the season, it was awesome to see them come out and shut down the best team in the AFC (record-wise, but also maybe playing wise). Patriots fans got the first look at the Patriots team we all thought they would be, and they were brilliant. Here are five takeaways from the win.

The No. 1 story with the Patriots through four weeks (other than those crazy people begging for Jimmy Garoppolo) was the offensive line. The O-line kept getting beat and because of it, Tom Brady kept taking a beating. Last night, however, the line played their best game and it instantly helped the offense. Both ground and passing games were strong all night long thanks to the stout work upfront.

Save the green skin and purple pants, Tom Brady was the Hulk last night. After dealing with a week's worth of criticism and “Patriots need to play Jimmy Garoppolo” talk, Tom Terrific took the game by storm and quickly reminded the NFL world why he’s heading straight for the Hall of Fame. I just wish we could have Angry Tom all year long.

Who would have guessed that the Patriots would run the ball last night? And not only run the ball, but run the ball to the tune of 224 total yards. Stevan Ridley had 113 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries, including a 43 yard run. Shane Vereen had an outstanding 90 yards on just nine carries, which was highlighted by taking a draw play for a first down on 3rd-and-15. Hopefully we can see this dedication to the run moving forward.

Darrelle Revis’ first four weeks with the Pats were up and down to say the least, and people were worried that the Patriots weren't using him right and that he was passed his prime. Against young stud A.J. Green, Revis showed Patriots fans that he is still elite. The Patriots had Revis blanketing Green all game long, and he let up only two catches for 16 yards. Oh, and he forced a fumble on one of those catches.

Finally, the Patriots ran an offense that makes sense with their personnel. For most of the game, the Pats went back to two tight end sets, ran the ball well, and used play action for big plays down the field. Hopefully McDaniels is done experimenting and can now just run this offense for the rest of the year, because it was obviously extremely effective. Also, Tim Wright looks really good. Let's see more of this two tight end formation.
