A.J. Green Could Miss Time After Re-Aggravating Toe Injury
After an impressive start to their 2014 campaign, the Cincinnati Bengals have hit a few bumps in the road. First was their Week 5 shellacking at the hands of the New England Patriots, and now their top offensive weapon has suffered a setback with his injured toe.
According to reports, wide receiver A.J. Green has re-aggravated a toe injury that he sustained back in Week 1 during a showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.
A.J. Green just got carted off practice field while practice is open. He let out an audible sigh as he rode off. Possibly his toe #Bengals

Shortly after the beginning of practice, Green limped off the field and conferred with trainers on the injured right toe. After, he was seen throwing his shoe and slamming his helmet in frustration, and was eventually carted off to the locker room for further examination.
The injury was initially deemed turf toe, but was later revealed to be a ligament strain.
It’s been a rough start to the season for Green, who has battled through this toe injury since Week 1, looked to be on track to make a full recovery after several strong outings. However, after being deemed “not a long-term injury,” this toe injury could prove problematic for Green for the foreseeable.
If Green can’t go on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, the Bengals will be forced to rely upon Mohamed Sanu as their top target. That’s not to say he’s not a solid pass-catcher, but he’s certainly not the playmaker Green is. This, however, could prove to be an intriguing test for quarterback Andy Dalton if he does have to take on a solid Panthers defense without his elite wide receiver.
We’re not to the doom-and-gloom stage yet, but this latest re-aggravation certainly isn’t a good sign for Green.
