Dee Milliner Will Be X-Factor For New York Jets In Week 6
Someone has to step up to help bring a team out of a rut, no? Cornerback Dee Milliner will help play a pivotal role in his next upcoming game when the Denver Broncos come to visit the New York Jets in their Week 6 matchup. It’s no secret the Jets have one of the worst defensive secondaries in the NFL, but if history has any say in it, they have a fighting chance to pull off the biggest upset of the season.
It all starts with Milliner and his ability to continue playing at a high level so it can trickle down to those around him. Last week, even though the Jets got rocked by the San Diego Chargers in a stunning 31-0 loss, Milliner was one of the few bright spots in that matchup.
Considering Milliner missed two games due to a nagging quadriceps injury, he played well in his return to the field. He broke up two passes and racked up a good amount of assisted tackles against the Chargers. This time around, Milliner will be facing one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time in Peyton Manning. The heat is coming, as there is no room for error against Manning and company.
This ever important Week 6 matchup could not only determine the rest of the season for the Jets, but also how well Milliner does against another high-octane offense. He did well and will have to push himself even further if there is any hope that the Jets can pull an upset over the Broncos.
Overall, Milliner is the x-factor in this matchup and his play could be game-changing if the Jets can pull it together and secure their second victory of the season. It all depends on the defensive secondary and their ability to finally stop the bleeding; and, of course, if Milliner makes enough plays to keep the Jets competitive throughout this game.
