Final Score Prediction for Bears vs. Falcons

Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery celebrate

It’s been easy to pick on the Chicago Bears and all their troubles this season. After all, shortcomings on defense were expected, but the struggles on offense have been tough to figure out. Riding a two-game losing streak coming into their fourth road game in six weeks, the Bears’ offense needs to take charge.

The defense is better than a season ago, but injuries are now threatening to take their toll. All-Pro linebacker Lance Briggs has already been ruled out, and second-year linebacker Jon Bostic is a game-time decision. All signs point to Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons being able to put up plenty of points. The question this week will be whether the Bears’ offense can rise to the occasion and show their high-flying, high-scoring potential.

With an offense that is about as healthy as they will be all season, the Bears will step up and show they can outpace their opponent. Despite their 2-3 record, the defense has made enough of an improvement from last season to make a difference. In 2014, the Bears are giving up an average of 26.2 points per game — an improvement from their 29.9 allowed per game last season. The Bears’ offense has been the problem. While they are more than capable of averaging more than their defense allows, they haven’t done so this year. Last season they averaged 27.8 points per game. This season, that has dropped to 23.2. A return to their offensive output from a year ago, and the Bears could be just fine.

We will see plenty of points, but the Bears’ offense will come together as a unit and put together a complete game, outpacing the Falcons to the score of 42-28. Expect a big day from the big wideout duo of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, and make sure you start Jay Cutler on your fantasy team as well.
