Week 7 Matchup: Arizona Cardinals (4-1) vs. Oakland Raiders (0-5)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 19, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: O.co Coliseum
Line: Arizona (-4)
Entering this Week 7 matchup, fans are probably expecting the Arizona Cardinals to win with ease. Those fans could be right, but it is interesting to note that Oakland almost knocked off San Diego last week, and will be playing at home. That would have been one heck of a win for the Raiders, and the first of 2014.
Although Oakland did end up losing to the Chargers, QB Derek Carr still managed to throw 282 yards and four TDs. However, he had one costly interception. Still, four touchdowns is pretty darn impressive.
If Oakland can keep up with San Diego, it can surely keep up with Arizona. However, just because Carr had a good offensive outing in Week 6, does not mean he will have another great performance in Week 7. Not to mention, the Cardinals did beat the Chargers this year.
Also, it is the Cardinals who are at the top of the NFC West. It is the Raiders who are at the bottom of the AFC West.
I doubt the Raiders go winless this year, but I also doubt they knock off the Cardinals in this one. Another good outing out of Carr could happen, though. Arizona is 32nd in the league in opposing passing yards per game. The rookie should be intrigued by that one.
I will leave you with this: Oakland may have scored 28 points last week, but it has only scored 79 total in 2014.
PREDICTION: Cardinals 31, Raiders 21
