Week 7 Matchup: Kansas City Chiefs (2-3) vs. San Diego Chargers (5-1)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 19, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: Qualcomm Stadium
Line: San Diego (-4)
The San Diego Chargers came close to losing against the Oakland Raiders in Week 6, but they pulled out the victory, and enter Week 7 with a 5-1 record. The Kansas City Chiefs had a bye, but they lost the week before that against San Francisco on the road.
QB Philip Rivers is an MVP candidate and the Chargers have what it takes to win the Super Bowl. They not only have won five in a row, but have also knocked off the defending national champs in the process.
For what it’s worth, San Diego has scored 164 points this season, and has only given up 91. That is very, very impressive.
Kansas City may only be allowing 214.4 passing yards per game, but it has yet to go up against Rivers, who already has 1,756 passing yards and 15 touchdowns. If he plays like he has been all season, he should throw for well over 214 yards.
The Chiefs could really use the W. After all, they are trailing San Diego by a couple of games, and another loss could spell doom for this season. The Chargers could also use a victory, though, as they take on the Denver Broncos next, who also only have one loss.
As good as the Chargers have been playing all season long, they are going to be tough to beat no matter who they face, especially at home.
PREDICTION: Chiefs 20, Chargers 31
