Week 7 Matchup: Atlanta Falcons (2-4) vs. Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 19, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: M&T Bank Stadium
Line: Baltimore (-7)
If this was a few weeks ago, we would be in store for a great matchup. Now, the Atlanta Falcons could still make this game interesting, but they are entering this matchup on a three-game losing streak.
After dropping a game to the Indianapolis Colts, the Baltimore Ravens managed to win against Tampa Bay. Not only did they win, they outscored the Buccaneers 48-17.
Here are two key factors for this game: Atlanta is averaging the third most passing yards in the NFL, and Baltimore’s defense ranks 27th in the league in opposing passing yards per game. However, the Ravens are ninth in the league when it comes to rushing yards per game, while the Falcons are 28th in opposing rushing yards.
So if history repeats itself, Atlanta will throw for a lot of yards and Baltimore will rush for a good amount.
While Atlanta’s offense hasn’t had much trouble scoring the ball (most points in the NFC South), it has given up a good amount of points as well.
There is a chance that this one is a high-scoring affair, but Baltimore’s defense is going to be the deciding factor. The team has only given up 97 points this year, while Atlanta has given up 170.
Atlanta has battled its fair share of injuries, but that is the nature of the sport.
Baltimore will win its second in a row as a result, and it certainly does not hurt its cause that it will be playing at M&T Bank Stadium.
PREDICTION: Falcons 23, Ravens 30
