Week 7 Matchup: Carolina Panthers (3-2-1) vs. Green Bay Packers (4-2)

TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 19, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX

Stadium: Lambeau Field

Line: Green Bay (-7)

The Carolina Panthers enter this contest coming off of a good old-fashioned … tie. That’s right, the Panthers managed to tie the Cincinnati Bengals last game. As for the Green Bay Packers, they just squeaked by the Miami Dolphins in Week 6.

Cam Newton is coming off of a monster game. I know this because I didn’t start him in my fantasy league, but that is beside the point. Newton threw for a respectable 284 yards, but he also rushed for 107 more. To make a long story short about Aaron Rodgers, he threw three TDs, including the game-winner.

Both teams are coming into this one with some momentum, but I like the Packers for two reasons: They are playing at home, and they have won three in a row. It also helps when Rodgers is playing the way that he has been.

The Panthers have played some quality teams this year, but it does not get much easier after Green Bay. After this Week 7 matchup, Carolina will play Seattle, New Orleans and Philadelphia. It will also take on Atlanta. Then, it will get its bye.

The Panthers have no time to worry about their rough stretch, as Green Bay is a solid team to say the least.

This contest could be really interesting if Newton racks up the stats once again, but the Packers get my vote.
