Did Seattle just offload a problem player to desperate Rex Ryan and the New York Jets? Percy Harvin can never stay put. There must be a reason.

When you win the Superbowl, you have the right mix of talent and personality in your locker room. If you have a disruption in that mojo, you have to remove the source of the disruption before it shows effects on the field. It seems like Harvin’s anger management issues are a problem that follow him everywhere he goes. Seattle was smart to cut ties and move on -- good luck, Rex Ryan.

Every team wants to turn their shifty speed player into the next Darren Sproles. The Chicago Bears tried for years to turn Devin Hester into a threat as a receiver and failed. Perhaps Rex Ryan’s personality and coaching style will be able to manage Percy Harvin’s locker room personality issues. The Jets' offense could use the help, but the key to that team is defense and I think Harvin will bring more disappointment than success.

The dominant team from Seattle that won the Superbowl last season was built on smart decisions meant to fill the exact needs of the team. You have to trust that they know what they need and definitely know what they don’t need. So if they say they don’t need Percy Harvin, they’re probably right (based on their track record).

Losing Golden Tate and now Percy Harvin has to make you wonder who will be there to make plays for the Seahawks' offense. Russell Wilson is a dynamic playmaker and Marshawn Lynch is a beast running the ball. But someone has to catch passes or they will become one-dimensional as a ground threat.
