The NFL has a new touchdown king. Peyton Manning broke Brett Favre’s historic record for most touchdown passes thrown in a career. It is a record that Manning will hold for a very long time, and it is by far his greatest accomplishment as a NFL quarterback. With that said, there are other records Manning could still break. Here’s a look at five that could happen in the near future.

Aaron Rodgers holds the record for passer rating in a single season (122.5), which he set in 2011. It will take plenty of efficiency to overcome the respectable mark that Rodgers set, but Manning leading the league with a 118.2 passer rating through Week 7 shows that he does have a realistic shot at getting back the record he once held.

Manning is on pace to break Favre’s records for career pass completions and pass attempts. Of course, the only way he will own both records is if he plays well into the 2016 NFL season, which is certainly feasible considering the high level he is currently playing at. As of right now, Manning is 619 pass completions and 1,500 pass attempts behind Favre.

Manning is currently tied with the great Dan Marino for game-winning drives (51) in a career. To be clear, a game-winning drive is defined as an offensive scoring drive that occurs in the fourth quarter or overtime that gives the team the win. Considering Manning leads his team to victory more often than not, there’s a good chance he will break the record this season.

2. Regular Season Wins

Favre holds the NFL record for most career wins by a quarterback (186), which he achieved with three different teams. Manning is currently 15 wins away from taking over the record. There is no denying that the Denver Broncos is one of the best teams in the league, which is why there is plenty of confidence Manning will break this record at some point during the 2015 season. If Denver goes undefeated from here on out, it will happen this season.

Another record Favre owns is career passing yards. The good news for Manning is it is a record that is well within his grasp. Through six games in 2014, Manning is 5,027 passing yards away from owning the record. As of right now, he’s on pace to throw for 4,928 yards this season, which means he would have to play next year to top Favre. Of course, it’s not outside the realm of reality to believe he could raise his average and do it this year.
