Week 8 Matchup: Buffalo Bills (4-3) vs. New York Jets (1-6)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 26, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: MetLife Stadium
Line: New York Jets (-3)
While the Buffalo Bills could still make a run for the postseason this year, the New York Jets need a miracle. New York has dug itself quite the hole, and has not won since the first week of the season.
The Bills managed to knock off the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7 by one point. Although Kyle Orton is likely not the team’s future, he has led the team to two victories in three games this year. Unlike at the college level, style points do not count in the NFL — it’s all about wins and losses. Believe it or not, Orton has helped keep Buffalo’s playoff hopes alive.
Coming off six straight losses, New York needs to win just so people keep their jobs. Not to mention, the fans cannot be too happy right now. The team recently landed Percy Harvin, so that should keep fans happy for a little while, but Harvin coming in and competing right away will be very important.
Although the Jets haven’t tasted victory in what seems like forever, they are going to finally get that taste once again in Week 8. A team can only lose so many games in a row, and although Buffalo could find its way to the playoffs, it is definitely beatable. Call it a hunch, but I am predicting New York to win this one at home.
PREDICTION: Bills 16, Jets 24
