Week 8 Matchup: San Diego Chargers (5-2) vs. Denver Broncos (5-1)
TV Schedule: Thursday, Oct. 23, 8:25 p.m. ET, CBS/NFL
Stadium: Sports Authority Field at Mile High
Line: Denver (-8)
Through seven weeks of the 2014 season, the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers have been two of the best teams in the NFL. Luckily for the fans, these two heavyweights will go up against one another in Week 8.
The Chargers are coming off their second loss of the season to the Kansas City Chiefs. Before that contest, San Diego won five games in a row. Although some of those teams will more than likely not be partaking in the playoffs this year, the Chargers did manage to knock off the Seattle Seahawks during that streak.
Coming off a loss or not, San Diego can make some serious noise by knocking off Denver. The team will be going up against the best QB in the league, but, for what it’s worth, the Chargers are third in the NFL in opposing passing yards per game.
As I am sure many people could have guessed, Peyton Manning and Co. have an amazing passing attack. They also have a great rushing defense, but the Chargers are known more for their passing game than their running game. Regardless, Denver has now won three games in a row, and they have done it in style.
For instance, the Broncos beat the San Francisco 49ers by the score of 42-17 last week. The 49ers are one of the better teams in the NFL.
This one will be played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, which means bad news for the Chargers.
PREDICTION: Chargers 23, Broncos 30
