Week 8 Matchup: Detroit Lions (5-2) vs. Atlanta Falcons (2-5)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 26, 9:30 a.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: Wembley Stadium
Line: Detroit (-4)
This may not be the most evenly-matched contest coming in, but these two teams should give London quite the show anyways. That’s right, this one will be played at Wembley Stadium, which is located in, you guessed it, London.
Surpsingly enough, the Falcons still have a chance at winning the NFC South. Still, they are 2-5 on the season and have a long ways to go. Matt Ryan stepping up in this one will be key, but that defense has to get better. As it stands, Atlanta is 29th in opposing passing yards per game and 27th in opposing rushing yards per game. No matter how good of an offense a team has, that is very hard to overcome.
Detroit enters this one on a two-game winning streak. The Lions have a solid defense, so that won’t help the Falcons’ cause. If that defense gets to Ryan early and often, this one could be over before the second half even starts. Something tells me that will be the case.
Regardless, there will be some added motivation for both teams as a result of playing in a different country. Both will want to put on a great show for London, but it is the Lions who will come away with the victory.
PREDICTION: Lions 27, Falcons 17
