Oh, strange athlete arrests. How you always amuse us.
Denver Broncos‘ practice squad member (and now former member), John Boyett, was arrested early Wednesday after a drunken incident with a cab driver. Boyett allegedly head-butted and punched the driver, then proceeded to steal a shovel from a construction site, where he attempted to bury himself in mulch to avoid the police.
He obviously failed in trying to camouflage himself from Johnny Law.
There’s also this gem via the Denver Post:
“Boyett, 24, told arresting officers to “contact his boss John Elway” before repeatedly slamming his head into a patrol car window while yelling and spitting, records say.”
Sounds like someone needs to sit in timeout while they contemplate their future in the CFL and/or Arena League.
