Heading into their Week 8 matchup, the Minnesota Vikings (2-5) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-5) both have key players appearing on their injury reports.

Tampa Bay is coming off of a bye week but still has a few lingering injuries remaining. The most notable is wide receiver Vincent Jackson who is still nursing a rib injury and was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice. Quarterback Josh McCown, who tore a ligament in his thumb Week 3, returned to practice but will remain the backup to incumbent Mike Glennon.

Vikings center John Sullivan did not participate in practice after suffering a concussion in Sunday’s loss to Buffalo, but he is on track to play Sunday once he is cleared by the NFL’s concussion protocol. The team also expects Vlad Ducasse (knee) to be ready to go. Frequent flyers Chad Greenway and Cordarrelle Patterson are no longer listed on the injury report.

The good news for the Buccaneers is cornerback Johnthan Banks was a full participant and is on track to return after missing their Week 6 game with Baltimore. Dashon Goldson was a limited participant after missing the past two games with an ankle injury. Jonathan Casillas (hamstring), Anthony Collins (knee) and Keith Tandy (hamstring) were all limited.

As the Vikings continue to wait for tight end Kyle Rudolph to return from sports hernia surgery, he appeared at practice for the first time but did not participate. Safety Harrison Smith was a full-go and his ankle appears to no longer be an issue. Linebacker Gerald Hodges did not participate as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. Antone Exum (ankle), Sharrif Floyd (ankle), Jabari Price (hamstring) and Corey Wootton (lower back) were all limited.
