In any other year, this would be one of the best contests of the week. In Week 8, the 5-2 Green Bay Packers travel down south to play the 2-4 New Orleans Saints -- a must-win game for the Saints. Here are five bold predictions for the matchup.

5. Eddie Lacy Will Rush For 150 Yards

Lacy said this week that he expects to have “one of the biggest” games of his life, and why wouldn’t he? The Alabama product is returning to the Superdome for the first time since his college days. To boot, the Packers could very well employ the ground game more to quell the Saints’ fierce pass rush.

With Morgan Burnett doubtful to suit up Sunday due to a nagging calf injury, it will be another Alabama alum who will get the start at safety. Clinton-Dix led the team in tackles last week in the blowout victory over Carolina, and he’ll pick up right where he left off. The rookie is on a trajectory to challenge a healthy Burnett for the starting spot by Thanksgiving.

3. Brandin Cooks Will Have Multiple TDs

With Jimmy Graham clearly not playing at full health and the Saints hesitant to five him an integral role in the game plan, look for Cooks to assume more of the load in the passing game. He hasn’t reached the end zone since Week 1 and has yet to eclipse 100 yards receiving. Cooks will break out against the Packers.

2. Junior Galette Will Wreak Havoc

The Saints’ leading sacker has pulled down quarterbacks in back-to-back weeks and will continue the good work against the Packers. Look for the Galette to get his hands on Aaron Rodgers early and often against a mediocre Packers offensive line that has given up the 10th-most sacks in the NFL thus far. Galette’s big day will go a long way toward slowing down the high-flying Green Bay aerial attack.

1. Saints Will Prevail Late

This is where the landslide ends for the Saints. Nothing turns a season around quite like a big home win over a heavily-favored opponent. Drew Brees will make the necessary plays down the stretch to put his team in position to edge the Packers deep in the fourth quarter. Don’t forget, New Orleans is second in their division right now, so their season is far from over.
