After a rocky start to their 2014 season, the New England Patriots' dynasty was proclaimed "dead" heading into their Week 5 matchup with Cincinnati. Since a 2-2 start, the Patriots have won three straight and are still the class of the AFC East. Despite the recent success that New England has achieved, most fans across the nation take great pleasure in hating the Patriots. Here are top 5 reasons why people love to hate the New England Patriots.

New England's dynasty unofficially began in 2001 after referees ruled that Tom Brady's arm was going forward in a controversial call that still resonates today. Without the Tuck Rule, it is hard to say if the Patriots would still have been a dynasty, but the fact that New England was handed a reprieve as a result of an obscure rule makes their dynasty seem "suspicious" to some.

In today's NFL era where the salary cap is supposed to create parity in the NFL, the Patriots have continued to win, which angers most fans. Just like the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Lakers, fans like winning, but when the same team wins year in and year out, they get sick of it and hope that the Patriots fall back to earth.

Tom Brady has everything that every man in the world would ever want. He is a three-time Super Bowl winner, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, was the leader of the only 18-0 team in NFL history, and has a smoking hot Brazilian model wife in Gisele Bundchen.

2. Bill Belichick

The man who is pulling all the strings in New England is Bill Belichick. Since taking over the franchise in 2000, Belichick turned the Pats from a laughingstock into a dynasty. His signature hoodie and complete disregard for the media makes him an easy villain. The good thing for the rest of the NFL is that Belichick's eye for talent has seriously slipped since winning it all back in 2004.

The one incident that still defines this team to this day is Spygate. Back in 2007, there was video evidence showing that the Patriots were stealing signs from the opposing team, which cost them a first-round pick and a significant fine from the NFL. Anti-Patriots are quick to say that since Spygate, they have not won a Super Bowl, trying to suggest that New England somehow did it the wrong way.
