New York Jets’ Michael Vick Given Huge Audition For Future
Michael Vick sure has had some memories in his career, but now he has a golden opportunity to play for his future. The New York Jets quarterback was officially named their starter as he now prepares to audition in front of the football world and prove he still has what it takes to be successful. Sure, it won’t be easy as he’ll be facing the Kansas City Chiefs, but one thing is certain: He will make the very most out of this chance to make a name for himself yet again.
Imagine the kind of headlines Vick will get if he actually pulls out the Jets’ second victory of the season. He could easily provide the much-needed spark to turn things around in New York. They always say that a veteran knows how to get out of these tough situations, and if anyone has the experience to get it done, it’s Vick.
What Vick does now as a starter and for the rest of the season will provide some valuable insight on what he brings to the table. Whether he sticks around with the Jets for longer than this season doesn’t matter, because if he proves he can make big plays and keep those chains moving, he will no doubt peak interest from many teams.
Come next year, he could be in a great position to either continue starting for the Jets or become a starter elsewhere. Either way, this is his time to shine without being put in a position to run dumb quarterback draw plays. Vick can now play from start to finish without any gimmicks whatsoever and focus on rekindling his starting magic.
Whether you love him or hate him, Vick is now back in the spotlight with much to prove. There certainly has to be a chip on his shoulder for the Jets not really giving him a fair shot during his initial arrival to win the quarterback competition over Geno Smith.
Now that his number is being called, he can focus on winning now for the Jets and of course auditioning for his future. If he can beat the Chiefs, that will prove to be a very bright sign for his continued success in the NFL.
