The Denver Broncos will travel west to take on the Oakland Raiders Sunday, and I think its safe to say that everyone is expecting Denver to win handily. The Raiders have had a disappointing season to put it lightly and are still in search of their first win. Unfortunately for them, there’s essentially no chance that it will come this week.
Peyton Manning is having another stellar year for the Broncos. He’s currently among the top three in the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns on the season with a quarterback rating of 112 — not too bad for the future Hall-of-Famer.
The Broncos are coming off a tough loss to the New England Patriots last week in Foxborough, but I fully expect them to bounce back this week and return to their winning ways. After all, they are still one of the most talented and well-rounded teams in the NFL as far as I’m concerned. Sitting at 6-2 and atop the AFC West, they are well on their way to another playoff berth.
The Raiders are struggling to find consistency in any part of their game this season. They are currently ranked last in the league in total offense, only averaging a mere 288.6 yards and 16.1 points per game. QB Derek Carr has had decent numbers in his games as a starter, but Darren McFadden has not lived up to his rushing potential, which makes it hard for the team to perform efficiently as a total offense.
On the defensive end, they have had a few solid performances, but going up against this explosive Denver offense is a very tough task.
Prediction: I don’t see any way the Raiders will be able to compete with the Broncos in any phase of this game. Denver will win big 38-13.
