Ben Roethlisberger Is Key To Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 10 Win
After two consecutive impressive wins over playoff contenders like the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers are all of a sudden on a roll after struggling early in the season.
This week, the Steelers high-powered offense will face off against a dejected New York Jets team.
When you look at the difference between the Steelers now and earlier in the season, the biggest reason for their turnaround is quarterback Ben Roethlisbger, who all of a sudden looks like best signal-caller in the NFL right now.
When you look at this matchup between the Steelers and Jets, Roethlisberger is the key to Pittsburgh winning this week.
The Jets are really the perfect matchup for Big Ben and Pittsburgh’s high-flying passing attack. New York’s secondary is an absolute mess after neglecting to strengthen it this past offseason to go along with second-year cornerback Dee Milliner being out for the rest season with an injury.
The Jets’ pass defense is giving up 231 passing yards per game, which ranks them 19th in the NFL. They have also allowed opposing offenses to put up 24 total touchdowns through the air so far this season.
Roethlisberger should have a field day after racking up a total of 862 yards and 12 touchdowns against the Colts and Ravens over the past two weeks combined.
This is certainly not the Steelers’ offense of old, which relied on the running game. Offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s system is all about the quarterback playing at a high level and it’s obvious his system is finally clicking with Roethlisberger.
