Week 11 Matchup: San Francisco 49ers (5-4) vs. New York Giants (3-6)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Nov. 16, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: MetLife Stadium
Line: San Francisco (-4.5)
The San Francisco 49ers enter this one with some momentum, while the New York Giants desperately need a win.
Although the 49ers don’t have the best record in the NFL, they still managed to pull off quite the feat last week, which was knock off the New Orleans Saints at home. That does not happen often to say the least. Before that game, San Fran was riding a two-game losing streak.
Regardless, it enters this one as the favorite. Some of that has to deal with the fact that the 49ers are coming off a huge win, and some of that has to deal with the fact that the Giants have now lost four games in a row.
New York has played some tough competition in those four games, but still. It won’t get any easier after this one either, as the Giants will take on the Dallas Cowboys next. After witnessing so much success toward the beginning of the season, the team has sure taken a nosedive since. The playoffs don’t even seem like a reality anymore and another loss would surely spell doom.
While New York does get somewhat of an advantage by playing in front of its fans, the 49ers are still battling for a spot in the playoffs, meaning they have more to play for, if you believe in those kinds of things.
PREDICTION: 49ers 27, Giants 24
