Week 11 Matchup: Houston Texans (4-5) vs. Cleveland Browns (6-3)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Nov. 16, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: FirstEnergy Stadium
Line: Cleveland (-3.5)
Don’t look now, but the Cleveland Browns are at the top of their division. Not many people probably expected that one to happen, especially with Brian Hoyer taking the snaps. Next up for the Browns will be the Houston Texans, who need a win to stay in the AFC South race.
Cleveland has now won three games in a row. Two of those wins were against two of the worst teams in the NFL. However, a 24-3 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals isn’t too shabby, which is exactly what the Browns pulled off in Week 10. The AFC North is jam-packed, so although Cleveland is at the top right now, that could easily change with one loss.
Hopefully a bye did Houston some good because they haven’t exactly been the hottest team in the NFL lately. In fact, the Texans have lost four of five.
In the grand scheme of things, Cleveland actually looks like a playoff team right now and Houston simply does not. The Browns are hot and they will be playing at home. Who knows how the two teams will finish the 2014 season, but I have to go with Cleveland in this one. Hoyer hasn’t really been the MVP type this season, but he has done just enough to lead his team to victory.
PREDICTION: Texans 20, Browns 24
