After the surprise success of the first Pitch Perfect movie starring Anna Kendrick, fans have been anxiously waiting for the release of the highly anticipated Pitch Perfect 2 trailer–which was officially released on Thursday. What’s even more exciting about the new release is NFL fans will recognize one familiar face in the trailer–Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.
Yes, you are reading that correctly as the Packers star–along with a few of his teammates–was shown flexing his guns as a member of one of the A cappella teams competing in the upcoming movie. Over the years, we’ve seen Matthews take part in numerous hilarious commercials, but it’s safe to say none of us sports fans could have predicted an appearance by Matthews in Pitch Perfect 2.
Aaron Rodgers has always been known as the comedian on Green Bay with his hilarious Discount Double Check commercials, but Matthews could be making a strong case to take over that role depending how much we see him once the movie is finally released. What will make this movie even more entertaining for sports fans is if we’re lucky enough to see Matthews actually sing and dance in the film.
The sequel is set to hit theaters on May 15 and it’s safe to say fans of the first film will be watching this trailer at least 10-15 times over the next 24 hours due to pure excitement as the Barden Bellas are finally back!
