No matter how irrelevant he is on the football field, Johnny Manziel just can’t stay out of the headlines.
Per the police report, the Cleveland Browns quarterback was allegedly involved in a massive brawl that occurred on Friday night in a luxuxy Cleveland apartment. Authorities were called to the apartment when reports of a “riot” came across their scanners.
According to official documents, the alleged victim, 33-year-old Chris Gonos, says he spotted Manziel and his entourage while waiting for the elevator. Gonos told his girlfriend, who was also present, that it was Manziel, and approached the quarterback, stating, “I’m the biggest Browns fan ever, I love you, I want to give you a hug.”
After making a move toward Manziel, Gonos was allegely punched in the face and beaten down by Manziel’s crew. A security guard of the apartment also stepped in, and was injured in the incident. Gonos also stated that his brother, who was also involved in the fight, tackled Manziel, getting the “sack and the fumble.”
The Browns have since released a generic statement as they continue to deal with the many unnecessary off-field issues that come with having Manziel on the roster.
