You’ve got to love twitter. It is a haven of news both in the sports world and beyond. It is also a great place to find hilarious photos, and if you are a San Diego Chargers fan you have to love the following tweet from @Chargers:
MVB-Most Valuable Beard? RT @ChargersSDavis: What would Philip Rivers look like if he had @weddlesbeard pic.twitter.com/Ulzz7354vX
— San Diego Chargers (@Chargers) November 26, 2014
Fans of the Chargers and twitter are probably very familiar with the twitter handle @weddelsbeard. It has taken off in the last season or so due to Eric Weddle growing out his beard in the belief that it is the Chargers good luck charm to getting back to the Super Bowl. He has refused to shave until that moment comes, and fans of the team love the look. Through the magic of photoshop we can now see what Philip Rivers would look like with such a beard. Rivers doesn’t look all that strange to be honest, and it would go nicely with his famed bolo ties.
The Chargers are 7-4 this year, a record that has them smiling as they are in prime position to make it to the playoffs. If they can stay loose and play with this type of spirit, they stand a great chance. It would be similar to last year when the 2013 version of this team used the aforementioned bolo ties as a way to laugh off the pressure and not focus on the tough task they had in winning out for a small chance at the postseason.
Who knows? Maybe Antonio Gates is next.
